proprietary blends of PTFE materials and other highly engineered polymer materials in order to meet the most challenging rotary sealing applications. These compounds offer low friction and a wide temperature range, and are suitable for sealing corrosive and abrasive media, high surface speeds and a wide temperature range.

Capabilities Rotaflon™-MC Series:

  • Can tolerate dry running conditions
  • High surface speeds up to 5,000fpm (25m/s), special designs up to 10,000fpm (50m/s)
  • Sealing pressure up to 500psi (35bar)*
  • High PV-Rating 5.0 to 10.0
  • Seals corrosive and abrasive media
  • Low friction and wear under load
  • No stick-slip
  • Temperature range: -80ºF to 400ºF (-60°C to 200°C)**
  • Extended seal life
  • FDA compliant designs available

Our standard MC-Series High-Performance Rotary Seals are categorized as follows:

up to 300psi (20bar)*; PV-Rating 5.0

up to 750psi (50bar)*; PV-Rating 8.0 to 10.0

Calculate the PV-Rating of the seal required for your application using calculator below:

The PV-Rating of an AHPSeal rotary seal gives an indication of the seal’s ability to withstand the stress applied to a seal due to sealing pressure as the shaft rotates with velocity. The higher the PV-Rating is, the higher the seal’s ability is to handle a higher combination of pressure and rotational velocity, with 10 being the highest. This is to only be used as a guide for lubricated operating conditions to narrow down possible sealing products.
Seals can not be operated at their upper pressure and speed rating at the same time!

Please contact one of our experienced seal engineers to select the best seal for your application.

*Maximum values depend on seal material, seal configuration, media, temperatures, pressures, surface speed and working environment. Data provided are guidelines for ideal operating conditions.  Seals cannot be operated at their upper pressure and speed ratings at the same time.  For maximum seal life expectancy, do not operate your seal beyond 75% of any of its operating limits. Please consult engineering.

**In corrosive media or extreme low temperatures, the elastomer o-ring can be protected from the media or replaced by incorporating a springenergized seal design in the outside seal diameter of the seal. Please consult engineering or call 1-800-283-7140 for advice.
