Rotaflon™ SB series

The Rotaflon SB™ high performance rotary shaft seal uses proprietary blends of polymer-based materials for the sealing element. These compounds provide longer life than conventional elastomer lip seals. The Rotaflon SB series employs a deflected lip seal geometry. Anti-rotational devices such as flanges or o-rings are often utilized to prevent the seal from rotating with the shaft. Seals are suitable for sealing corrosive and abrasive media.

 

Some of the advantages of the Rotaflon-SB series design are:

• Seals corrosive and abrasive media
• High surface speeds up to 7000 ft/min
• Capable of sealing up to 1500 PSI. with PV (feet per min. x PSI) values of 100,000
• Can tolerate dry running conditions
• Low friction and wear
• Easy to assemble and disassemble
• Available in low to mid volumes with no tooling charges
• Temperature range: -30º to 250ºF
• Maximize seal life

In corrosive media, the elastomer o-ring can be protected from the media by incorporating a spring energized seal design in the outside seal diameter of the seal.

Our extensive range of Seals is available in a wide range of sizes and materials. Our materials include: Polyurethane, Nitrile, Viton®, H-Nbr, high-performance Polyurethane, water resistant (hydrolysis resistant) Polyurethane, EPDM, Silicone, FDA compliant materials, Aflas®, Hytrel®, Kalrez®, UHMWPE, Tefzel®, Nylon, Nylatron®, Engineering Plastics, Peek, and a range of proprietary filled Teflon® (PTFE). Many special Duralast™, Permachem™ and Duraloy™ Engineering Plastics and Elastomers were developed to match real-world applications, and on many occasions we have developed a special grade to address a customer's application difficulty.
