Supersonic Land Speed Challenger

American High Performance Seals, Inc., is providing a sealing solution for the "North American Eagle™," the vehicle attempting to break the land speed record of 763 mph (1,228 km/h). A high-performance Rotary Shaft Seal for the hydraulic braking system was developed, tested, and approved for the final attempt at becoming the fastest land vehicle ever built!

The Challenge: 
Seal spins with the shaft and must seal on the rotating housing at 7,700 sfpm (39.15 m/s)

The Solution:
Dual sealing arrangement of close toleranced labyrinth seal and high speed spring energized seal in one of AHP Seals’  Permachem™ material.
